Central High School of Little Rock

The events in Central High School of  Little Rock, it catches my attention about  that something  happened in Panama, in the old Panama Zone Canal, on January 9, 1964 where some Panamanian students  were to raise the Panamanian flag on the old Canal Zone.  Now day on January 9th it’s a day of national mourning. Those events lead us to reflect that “it impossible to forgot” and it give the opportunity to teach our current and future students the about our history, and tell them that those heroes or martyrs, were motivated to fight for equal opportunities.

    That's a great connection, Sara. Thank you for sharing it! I suppose one difference would be that this was US people vs. US people. I think the Panama situation involved Panamanians and people from the US, correct?

    Obviously there was a strong ideal of national sovereignty involved in the Panamanian event. Could you tell me a bit about the equal opportunities part? I don't know very much about that.
