Some of the people still incommode, to talk with
somebody that has disables. In my own experience to teach students with these
kind of problem (in Panama is calls: Students with Special Necessity SSN). And how can I help to my students with
some disabilities? My answer is that all
of my students learn at the same time with the same environment … but our
students with special necessity educative (my point of view) need a good center
educative and integrate there the rest of our students, not integrate our
special students in ordinary´s classroom. Other things that in our schools
don’t have are resource necessary to support SSN they need professional’s
teachers to collaborate together with the Spanish and English teachers.
Other problem with SSN is that on our classroom are
too much students more or less 30 per classroom , and 3 or 4 SSN, so is too
difficult to pay attention of all of the students. And, also they have English
class (2 hours per day) 2nd grade and (5 hours per week) 3rd grade. In other
hand are the SSN families, they don’t collaborate together with the teacher,
most of the time their family don’t pay attention their children, (homework).
I think that all of the teachers should be more
attention to all of the SSN.
You mention a lot of the difficulties associated with SSNs and incorporating them into the classroom. What solutions could you imagine to address these problems? You've identified problems; no try to be a problem solver!
